Sample LYRICS

This song is called Lilth and Eve - It is about a woman and the two sides to her personality. We are not all perfect ribbons and curls. As humans we are very much a mix of good and 'evil' - hence the title which refers of course to the story of Adam, Eve and the Garden of Eden. The garden of Eden is discussed in great detail by a friend of mine, Susan Scott on her website and in her book, 'In Praise of Lilth, Eve and the Serpent in the Garden of Eden'. She and her insights were the inspiration for this song. It has been handed over to a very able musician as a song is not a song until we hear the voice behind it.

Lilith & Eve

Unleashed, unhinged, deranged
Plain ole crazy's how you had me feelin'
Just lookin' past the dance floot
On the bar side where you stood.

Telling lips and thighs
Black leather, heels
Playing with your eyes and hair
Furtive glances everywhere
Til your eyes locked with mine.

Right then and there I knew you were the one
I'd been searching for so long.
My Lilith and my Eve, a woman of my heart.
You had me laughin' in my daydreams,
You had me screamin' in my nightmares.
You were my Lith and my Eve
You had me ever on my knees
You got me baby, beggin' please.

Down to the lake I spied on you -
Fair mermaid in my midst
All delicate, angelic like, wanton  moves
Body swimming languishing in time
Furtive glances everywhere
Til you eyes locked with mine.

Once more I knew you were the one
I'd been searching for so long ...
My Lilith and my Eve, a woman of my heart.
You had me laughin' in my daydre
ams
You had me screamin' in my nightmares
You were my Lilth and my Eve
You had me ever on my knees
You had me baby, beggin' please.

Some say it's true and rightly so
That love's a burning thing
I say to that exactly right

and precisely to this day
The force your fire lit in me
Well surely see me to my grave.

You had me laughin' in my daydreams
You had me screamin' in my nightmares
You were my Lilth and my Eve
You had me ever on my knees
You had me baby, beggin' please.

Your bas are packed and shower took
I heard you cryin' all the while
Wiping out my smlin heart
As car keys clink and fade away.
I should have known
A girl like you would never stay.

And still -

You had me laughin' in my daydreams
You had me screamin' in my nightmares
You were my Lilth and my Eve
You have me ever on my knees

You have me baby, beggin' please.

Competition Winning Poem - June 2013

The Scripter

The sparkle on the lake has lost its splendour
Gnarly hands that held the pen
Through this writer`s frigid nights
Stretch gratefully
Absorbing, retreating, relieving from arthritic joints
As sunlight fills again
The shadows.

Warming words and page and ink alike
Playing softly into dusk`s hour
The sun
Springing life into the struggling
Writings of the scripter.

Filling, feeling, telling the joys
Of tulips, crocus, daffodils
With nimble
Grateful grace.

It`s spring time in the yard
Once more
Alors mon dieu, je dit merci!
Encore une fois. Encore.
